Public schools to thrive must be re-formed

Public schools to thrive must be re-formed
Re-forming means to change the form for good
Car free communities with schools to match
Could do the job but only if we would

Think of schools that everyone can walk to
Teachers children parents everyone
Small enough to fit the human scale
Smart enough to see the all in one

Students should be led by their impulses
Teachers should have passion for their field
When community is the foundation
All today's sad barriers will yield

Would it be extreme to answer repentance or national doom

List of motor vehicle deaths in U.S. by year - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia:

How many die from motor vehicles each year
More than ten times those who died on 9/11
More than 100 times those who died on 9/11
During the decade just completed
Then there were all the lives we took
Getting revenge
Including more of our own than
Died on 9/11

How many died in
In Iraq and Afghanistan
As a result of our response to 9/11
At least 300 times those who died on 9/11
More likely more

What is the Biblical view on the exacting of revenge
It is an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth
What does it mean that we do not follow this law
Would it be extreme to answer repentance or national doom

Andy has succombed a big mistake

Gov. Cuomo Succumbs - NYTimes.com: "are sharing on nytimes.com. Privacy Policy | What’s This?"

Andy has succombed a big mistake
It makes you wonder was the man awake
Democracy forsaken hard to take
One wonders what other mistakes he'll make

The wages of our trying to hide from war

The wages of our trying to hide from war
Sixteen bodies on some Afghan floor
Repulsion from a war that we ignore
As we realize the hideous score

Do we end up becoming what we seem

Do we end up becoming what we seem
And grow by imitating what we dream
Or lose the light that once brightly did gleam
Like the dry  bed of a once sprightly stream

Andy Pettitte had to change his mind
Sometimes the best decisions can unwind
When leaving what you love becomes a grind
Let's hope the gods of baseball aren't unkind
