Romney's Dumbest Remark of The Day

Gingrich complains about lack of audience participation in Monday night’s debate in Florida - The Washington Post: "“He better learn to debate in all settings,” Romney said"

The setting in question is one in which the audience is forbidden to react. I know people like Mitt intimately. Little they say means what you hear.

David Plouffe Has Made All The Difference at the White House

The Buffett Rule Isn't About Mitt Romney. Or Is It? - NYTimes.com: "So it’s not the Romney Rule, but the Buffet Rule, that David Plouffe, a senior White House adviser, said would roll across the president’s Teleprompter: “We’re going to outline that specifically tonight, what that would mean, so that we make sure everybody in this economy is doing their fair share,” he said."

I doubt many would come out and say it, but the presence of David Plouffe in an essentially right hand role in the White House has fundamentally altered the Obama Presidency. I will continue to insist as I did in 2008 that Plouffe would have made a difference from the gitgo had he been willing to do do., It was a tough call for him then and there are no ifs in history. We should be glad that he is there now.

Here's what I wrote on this at the start of President Obama's term.

An Open Note To David Plouffe | Stephen C. Rose: "But do wish you were more in the fray yourself. I have turned into a broken record on the subject. Obama needs you at the head of the Democratic Party, remoulding it. With all due respect to the OFA folk who have tried to take up the mantle, the results have been less than good.

Newt and Alinsky are more close than Obama was to Alinsky

Saul Alinsky died a young man at 62
He really was more like Newt than Barack
His hero was Tom Paine
He was thoughtful impulsive and he didn't take care of himself

Annals of religion in decline

Church Crisis? Thousands Getting "De-Baptized": "It is not uncommon for people to leave their church for one reason or another, but now the exodus is becoming official by people going to great lengths to be "de-baptized," and this has church officials very concerned."

'via Blog this'

What is not in decline are values - tolerance, democracy, helpfulness and non-idolatry. Those who will these need no baptism or de-baptism. The global democratic movement, if it abides by these values, will succeed in achieving what was implicit in the teaching of Jesus, largely ignored by many within churches. In this context, baptism is a minor thing..

When Abba’s home within us is unsealed

Winning The War Within Collected Sonnets:

Heaven might be beyond our universe
Heaven might be our most amazing dream
Heaven might save us from the primal curse
Heaven might be the crystal fountain’s stream
The heaven that is most real is revealed
When Abba’s home within us is unsealed

How Romney lost the Monday debate

Romney Unleashes Attack With Gingrich Sole Target - NYTimes.com: "Yet on the eve of the president’s State of the Union address, the debate was notable for the lack of time devoted to Mr. Obama. It was the first sign of the consequences of a drawn-out Republican nominating contest, with Mr. Obama taking a back seat to terse re-examinations of the candidates’ records."

Gingrich rope-a-doped a bit
Not so Mitt
He really got into it
Twit twit twit
If that's the best that Mitt can do

Obdurate House Republicans will help the President win in November

Confident Obama Knows Wild Cards Can Loom Large - NYTimes.com: "Lawmakers returned for the year’s Congressional session with many House Republicans in a rebellious mood over their leaders’ and Senate Republicans’ past budget compromises with Mr. Obama. Many veteran Republicans counter that the militancy of junior conservatives has driven the party’s and Congress’s public support to among the lowest levels in the history of polling, while Mr. Obama’s ratings have inched up. The party’s disarray is a far cry from a year ago when Republicans, having just won control of the House, were ascendant."

Obdurate House Republicans will help the President win in November
A number of them will be replaced by Democrats that same November
The Spoiled Brat House will most certainly be history then
Along with the Tea Party Boehner and the rest of them
The reason is simple Obama has always preferred
To be a good centrist and watch the extremes get the bird
Yes he's a Republican as much as a Democrat
The GOP knows it denies it and suffers for that
