I doubt many would come out and say it, but the presence of David Plouffe in an essentially right hand role in the White House has fundamentally altered the Obama Presidency. I will continue to insist as I did in 2008 that Plouffe would have made a difference from the gitgo had he been willing to do do., It was a tough call for him then and there are no ifs in history. We should be glad that he is there now.

Here's what I wrote on this at the start of President Obama's term.

An Open Note To David Plouffe | Stephen C. Rose: "But do wish you were more in the fray yourself. I have turned into a broken record on the subject. The global democratic movement, if it abides by these values, will succeed in achieving what was implicit in the teaching of Jesus, largely ignored by many within churches. In this context, baptism is a minor thing..
