Good stuff from I Blame

The Beauty Ultimatum « I Blame The Patriarchy: " Certainly by the time women age out of the system, although one hopes well before then, it will have dawned on them that femininity isn’t just a matter of personal choice, but is in fact a major element on the continuum of global misogyny that begins with “choosing” to wear lipstick for fun and ends with violence and murder."

Norton Intrusiveness is Tacky

So Norton sneaks onto my PC as part of an upgrade of RealPlayer. Then it uses various means to prevent me from zapping it. I finally go in and accomplish it. Assume there are many RealPlayer owners who are in the same boat. In order to defeat Norton, you will have to click uninstall on its intrusive message in Change Remove programs. I do not want Norton messing with my existing protections. Enough said. RealPlayer should not be inflicting this on its users.

GOP Out-Tweets Dems

Perry Falls Flat

Obama Attacks Perry on Flat Tax - NYTimes.com: "Under a flat tax, Mr. Kvaal says, the progressive nature of the current tax code would be lost, with everyone paying the same rate. That would lead to drastically lower tax rates for the wealthy, he says, and higher taxes for the middle class, which might lose deductions for their homes or child care."

Shut Down Fox News?

Anonymous Vows to Shut Down Fox News - Digg: "politicususa.com — The collective activist group Anonymous has made a clear and concise statement after citing Fox News’ propaganda efforts against the Occupy Wall Street movement, to shut the station down. Anonymous, in a YouTube video specifically points out the talking points Fox repeatedly uses to denounce the movement in sweeping stereotypical generalizations such as, “filthy, disgusting and dirty” to describe the protesters."

FOX is doing a pretty good job of making a fool of itself without being shut down. Meanwhile Occupy is as popular as the Obama jobs plan which is hitting in the 80 percentile for approval. The tide may be turning. It will be interesting to watch the retreat as once-secure Congress folk are threatened.

I have two competing visions of the future

The Secret of Not Spilling is Not Drilling - Associated Content from Yahoo! - associatedcontent.com:

I have two competing visions of the future. One, the world we have now running down. The other the world we could have, being born. The happy thing is that these two worlds do not actually compete. Just as a scab simply diminishes as it heals, so too I believe this world of ours will gradually disappear as a new one takes its place. (Continue at the link above.)

President is so much smarter than the GOP

It as if the GOP had contracted to make a fool of itself

Cap tip to James for the following

Now that each and every Senate Republican has vowed to block measures that would create jobs, President Obama is not going to wait for them to rebuild the economy and bring financial security back to the middle class.

Today, he announced new rules on federal mortgages to prevent more families from losing their homes to foreclosure. And that's just the beginning -- the President said he would continue to make the changes he can by executive action, while continuing to urge Congress to act on legislation to strengthen the economy and create jobs.

If Congress doesn't act, he will -- because millions of Americans can't just wait for Congress to do their jobs. That's why thousands of you have been calling and tweeting your representatives over the past month, joining the President in sending a message to lawmakers in Washington that they need to act now.
